Dual Boot Samsung Focus

Are you upset that you decided to get that Windows phone, but realized that Android is the place to be? Well some hardworking developers from DFT (Dark Force Team), specifically Cotulla, have made progress in loading the MAGLDR bootloader on a Windows phone. Thus far it has only been successful for the Samsung Focus, but future efforts could pave the way to have the custom bootloader added to much newer devices.

The MAGLDR bootloader allows the users to add a custom ROM to their phone, and make use of much newer releases of firmware which Samsung has stopped officially supporting. What really gets interesting is the talk of having the phone dual-boot both the stock Windows ROM and a version of Android. This dual-booting essentially allowing the user two completely separate interfaces in which to interact with their phone.

Now more work needs to be done before there will be a mass released version, and of course partaking in flashing ROMs can always be a dangerous to your phones health. But the way we see the situation, it is a step in the right direction for those who just can’t choose which OS they want to use.
